Antique Signed Japanese Satsuma Figural Vase Pair

Description:

Circa 1850-1925. No chips, cracks or repairs. Fine overall crazing, various spots of gilt gold paint wear. This excellent condition pair of 14" tall figural satsuma vases are larger than they appear here, both are signed on the bottom with a nine character mark. Each vase shows a design featuring the immortals, with a bold rope and tassel high relief. The folded and flared mouth measures 6 3/8" wide with the body approx. 7" diameter. In addition to the well painted immortals among landscapes, there are raised white enamel dots and lines on the interior top rim and around the bottom. On both there is no loss.
