Description:

Meiji period ca. 1880-1910. Good overall condition-one ding as shown, otherwise fine. This amazing 14 3/4" tall five lobed vase shows off goldstone mixed with other bright enamels, creating a dragon and scrolling art nouveau design. Appears to have a silver over copper base. Incredibly intricate work. The top rim design matches the bottom rim design, similar to the very best Meiji period pieces. The black ground contains tiny spirals throughout. Apparently not signed.
