These two antique paintings are both watercolors on paper, mounted to a slightly warped wood boards. The paper/board measurement is approx. 9" X 6.75", with the woman's board slightly wider and the man's board slightly taller. Both fit well into the matched gilt wood frames, both under glass as found. Please see photos for surface condition, showing a rub on the womans cheek, and loss of pigment on her dress, lower. Great American folk art, dated based on the paint surface, and the style of dress. The solid wood boards are not as old as the paper.
