Pair Antique 19thC French Bronze Dog and Cat Chenets

Description:

After Caffieri, this chenet pair dates between 1860-1900 and features patinated bronze dog and cat sitting directly upon gilt bronze Empire footed bases. Large and heavy with no cracks, breaks or repairs. These were made in the manner of Philippe Caffi_ri (1714_1774) a French sculptor who created this slightly eccentric version of the world's two most popular pets. Over the decades the round bun feet have been slightly bent, creating a very slight wobble. Easy to remedy if needed.
