French Belle Epoque Bronze Nickel Centerpiece

Description:

ca. Last half 20thC. In our opinion a very well made 20thC copy of an 18thC form. Complete with hand formed, seam soldered sheet gilt brass liner. The alloy used for this piece was heavy in nickel, as some high points show a silver color. Also, underneath there is a rainbow patina typical of this bronze alloy. A very heavy, and very attractive artifact, regardless of age. One drop bail handle on the liner is missing due to a break. Otherwise very good condition. Has a slight wobble on a flat surface needing attention.
