Description:
ca. 20thC. Eight matching chairs with quarter arms. No breaks or repairs, all retain clean upholstery. These high-end decorator giltwood armchairs were made using old world techniques: first a white plaster underpaint is applied to the bare wood, then a red rouge base is added for the final two or three gilt gold coats, then the entire piece is polished with red rouge on a polishing buffer. Although contemporary, the quality is obviously "Old World".
