Description:
ca. Mid to 3rd quarter 19thC. Excellent condition. At first I believed these were made during the 20thC in the manner of antique pole screens. Looking at the details closely, including the brass surfaces, along with the lacquer work, changed my view. The high relief design on both faces is pristine, however the black lacquer shows some very light crazing. The gold gilt paint is stunning, so if this is your thing, I guarantee you will love this pair.
